Marianne is a retired secondary-school bursar who now volunteers with a number of organisations. Practical, straightforward and unafraid to tackle difficult situations, she is someone who looks for solutions when problems arise.
Marianne’s husband was diagnosed with MND, and she cared for him for 12 years before he passed away. Through that experience, she developed a deep understanding of the practical challenges, changing emotions and uncertainty that can affect both the person living with MND and those closest to them.
She particularly hopes to support people who have recently been diagnosed, as well as family members and carers trying to understand and adjust to what may lie ahead.
