Kajal’s mum was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2020, after living with symptoms for around two years, and sadly later died from the condition. Supporting her mum and family throughout that time had a profound impact on Kajal’s life.
Through this experience, Kajal gained a first-hand understanding of the challenges that can follow an MND diagnosis and the wider impact the condition can have on families and loved ones.
Kajal became a Support Volunteer because she understands how overwhelming and frightening a new diagnosis can feel. By sharing her experience, she hopes to offer reassurance, understanding and practical support to people living with MND and their families.
“I hope that by sharing my experience, I can offer some comfort and practical support to newly diagnosed families and help them feel a little less alone.”
